Destiny?

Do you believe in destiny?  Some kids in Richmond, Virginia probably do.  The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams are in the Final Four.  How can it not be destiny?  Think back to Selection Sunday, and how elated they must have been to have made it into the field.  Then, imagine their smiles fading as analyst after analyst says they're a fluke, a mistake.  Fast forward a few weeks, and they've beaten teams from the Pac-10, Big East, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12 to get to the Final Four.  That's five of the six major conferences, all falling at the hands of the underdog Rams.  They might get their chance yet at the SEC as well, possibly for the championship.  Also, don't forget, they had to win an extra game that the other 3 teams didn't, doing a lot of things that nobody has ever done along the way.  So now, it comes down to one final weekend.  The VCU Rams have shocked the world for two weeks, and might have one final electric moment...

The 2011 NCAA Tournament has been awesome to say the least.  There have been moments that made my jaw drop, my head hurt, my blood pressure rise, and my feet dance.  From Morehead State's heroics, to Pitt and Butler's series of unfortunate events, to Kemba Walker's continued ownership of everybody, it has been exciting.  My favorite play of the tourney so far, though, wasn't a buzzer-beater.  It wasn't a blocked shot, or a bad call, or a rim-shaking dunk.  It didn't even show up as a stat, but to me it was just as monumental.  It occurred in the first half of the game that saw my Kentucky Wildcats taking on the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes.  The Buckeyes were almost a unanimous pick and the question seemed to be, not whether OSU would win, but by how much.  The Cats were led by 3 freshmen and a big man who couldn't even get on the floor last year.  Ohio State boasted a big man considered to be a top player in the country, and a top 3 draft pick in ...
