Destiny?

Do you believe in destiny?  Some kids in Richmond, Virginia probably do.  The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams are in the Final Four.  How can it not be destiny?  Think back to Selection Sunday, and how elated they must have been to have made it into the field.  Then, imagine their smiles fading as analyst after analyst says they're a fluke, a mistake.  Fast forward a few weeks, and they've beaten teams from the Pac-10, Big East, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12 to get to the Final Four.  That's five of the six major conferences, all falling at the hands of the underdog Rams.  They might get their chance yet at the SEC as well, possibly for the championship.  Also, don't forget, they had to win an extra game that the other 3 teams didn't, doing a lot of things that nobody has ever done along the way.  So now, it comes down to one final weekend.  The VCU Rams have shocked the world for two weeks, and might have one final electric moment left.  If they can pull it off, then the smiles will return for good: smiles for the vindicated selection committee, smiles for Shaka Smart and his players, and smiles for the entire college basketball world.  And yes, even if they beat my Kentucky Wildcats to finish off their amazing run, through my disappointment, I'll be smiling.  Why not?  It's destiny. Right?
